Direction
- Each pound treats up to 6,000 sq. ft.
- For optimal results, spread evenly over the treatment area on a sunny morning when the temperature is above 45°F.
- For regular maintenance, apply once every 4 weeks; for active treatment, apply once every 1–2 weeks.
- It will gradually improve water conditions over time.

What should be done before using the pond tablets?
- For optimal results, it's advisable to take out any floating debris, such as grass roots and leaves, from the pond before application.
How often should muck reducer be used for a seriously mucky pond?
- If pond condition is quite serious, you can use the muck reducer twice a week for the first two weeks. Be sure not to exceed twice the recommended dosage per application. You can reduce the frequency of use as the condition improves.
How long does it take to see results?
- It's important to note that this is not an instant solution. Patience is key as it works gradually to improve your water's condition.
What are some additional caveats for using the product?
- Some powder may form during transportation. If concerned, you can wear gloves, but any odor can be washed away with water. A slight odor may occur when opening the bag, but it’s normal, safe, and won’t affect the product's performance.
Can the Muck Reducer be used with other water treatment products?
- Yes, it can. It can be used alongside our Pond Clarifier Treatment. For optimal results, we recommend using the Muck Reducer first, then waiting 48 hours before applying the Pond Clarifier Treatment.
Purchased for a stream with heavy muck concentration around large rocks. Your product did not completely reduce the muck but significantly thinned it. High pressure hose helped remove about 80%. I think I will try an additional application to see if it reduces the remaining muck.
Just picked up this muck reducer for our backyard pond that was getting pretty gross with all the sludge buildup, and honestly, it's been a game changer. The tablets are super easy to use - you literally just toss them in on a sunny morning and they sink down to do their thing. I was skeptical at first, but after about a week I could actually see a difference in how much cleaner the bottom looked, and that funky swamp smell is basically gone. This product is great for backyard ponds. Really good for algae removal and keep your fish alive. Great value for money.
5/5 actually works!!! The container doesn’t look big but actually has a lot in it. We tried it out and immediately saw a different when we checked a couple days later. This is the easiest, no-Fuss way to clear some of that gross muck. It’s a great value and is as low maintenance as you can get. Def recommend for anyone with mucky water they want to clear. Would buy again
I got this for my mucky pond, which I’m hoping to not have to drain. I would say that it didn’t reduce the amount of muck. At most, I think it controlled the muck for a short period. I think it would work better if the pond was cleaned and then these are used to maintain. For me, the amount of algae did not decrease. And the pond was overrun with algae again very shortly. The other drawback for me was the number of tablets to use for the pond size. Need to use quite a bit so the tub will only last a short period, making using this pricey.
They worked well. The lake we live on has murky soil in it. We have established that these particular pellets work well. They clear up the water and they help with the muck on the bottom of the lake appear less mushy. I would recommend these if you are trying to clear up muck from a body of water.

Great product
Works OK on muck near shore, significant improvement in several spots, but it does not work well at all on muck & odors where rocks abut the shoreline underwater.
This product is exactly what I need to get my pond healthy again. I have already started noticing a difference and look forward to seeing more progress as the natural enzymes do their work._x000d_

This has been a great solution for our pond weeds. Has saved us so much work and not caused any problem for our fish. Very easy to use. No problem for our Koi. We have recently had about 10 babies and it is no problem for them either.

Muck reduction does take time. Be patient. I am starting to see results. It does eat away the muck and it may take several applications depending upon how much muck is on the bottom of your pond. This product seems more effective than others I have tried in the past.
This muck reducer did a decent job, just wish it would last longer. It did visibly clear up the bottom and has no smell to it. We can actually see sand now and not green muck. It's fairly priced for the work it does that you do not have to do to clear a pond bottom so id say its a good value.
